Voting Bush out
by Jayson inwhat is the best campaign stratagy to win against him?
be serious this is to win the minds of american voters not to polerize them against you.
otherwise it's a plug for him.. i think that the one real weakness is unemployment in america.

Unless something really catastrophic happens, Bush has a lock on the next election. I also concur that Presidents have almost nothing to do with the economy in the short term, long term, tax policy can make a big difference.

Noam Chomsky: What's Happening?
by Abaddon ininteresting interview with noam chomsky.. i would find it infinately preferable if people would read the article (if they are interested) and address issues in the article.
whilst people are perfectly free to say;.

You can stick your "rules" in your ear. People do whatever they want on this forum within the limits of the things Simon has decided to control. Obviously you're a Chomsky groupy which tells me everything I need to know about you. That makes moronitude your middle name, another "useful idiot."

Witnesses still having some success at doors
by JH inriding around the city this morning i saw 2 witnesses from my congregation talking to a man at his door, and they seemed to have placed a book or magazine.
although they did not enter his house, they stead there at his door a couple of minutes.
although most do not answer or accept anything from witnesses, he seemed to be an exception.

Well it's not much. Recently he was in Kansas City when the tornados struck around there. Radio and television were warning people to take shelter and get off the road if they were driving. Jarascz insisted that two brothers take him to the airport so he wouldn't get caught up in the storm, they kept telling him it was a really bad idea but he wasn't going to hear it. There they were driving down the Interstate with no other cars in sight wondering when they were going to be blown off the road. Finally, an announcement was made that airport was closed so he agreed they could get off the road and seek shelter. They pulled into an apartment complex and some total stranger came out and offered them a place in a storm shelter (angelic direction no doubt).
I don't know what this means but it's pretty strange behaviour in my opinion. Was he afraid? just didn't want to be involved? what? I'd have left that dude standing by the side of the road with his suitcase.

"The second originates in a thesis familiar to readers of Chomsky’s book, Manufacturing Consent, a vulgar Marxist tract arguing that the American media functions as a propaganda agency for the government and its ruling class bosses." says David Horowitz in Noam Chomsky's Jihad Against America. There are lots of other references to Chomsky's Marxism but I'll go with Horowitz who knows what he's talking about having been a Marxist himself. The 'libertarian socialist' business is just a smoke screen.
"ONE OF THE TYPICAL ILLUSIONS of the Chomsky cult is the belief that its imam and sensei is not the unbalanced dervish of anti-American loathing he appears to everyone else, but an analytic giant whose dicta flow from a painstaking and scientific inquiry into the facts. "The only reason Noam Chomsky is an international political force unto himself," writes a typically fervid acolyte, "is that he actually spends considerable time researching, analyzing, corroborating, deconstructing, and impassionately [sic] explaining world affairs." This conviction is almost as delusional as Chomsky's view of the world itself. It would be more accurate to say of the Chomsky oeuvre -- lifting a famous line from the late Mary McCarthy -- that everything he has written is a lie, including the "ands" and "the's." '

Underlining the answers in the Watchtower magazines
by JH in.
i found it funny how some people would literally underline just about everything in the watchtower magazine.
the more the magazine was underlined and notes were written, the more a person looked spiritual.. did it ever happen that you didn't read your watchtower magazine, and you underlined just about anything just to look as if you read it?.

You know undercover if you keep your mouth shut you won't demonstrate your ignorance to the whole world.
I just couldn't resist.

In your experience, do JW's show hospitality?
by Gopher inand i don't just mean "formal" hospitality that is scheduled on the announcement board for visiting speakers and travelling overseers.. i mean real, from the heart, love of strangers (xenophilia in greek).
xenophobia (fear of strangers) is the antithesis of hospitality.. when you visited other halls where nobody knew you (and you weren't the guest speaker or the travelling overseer), did people go out of their way to make you feel welcome?
or did they mutter to themselves, "i wonder who the stranger is?

It depends on the congregation. Most I've been to are hospitable and some are very hospitable, but there are a few that are as cold as ice.

Noam Chomsky is a notorious lef-wing idealogue and has never found anything good to say about this country. He's a Marxist through and through and anyone who grants him any credibility at all is a lunatic.
